Ingredients

  • Ingredients
  • 1 lb (450 g) beef, cubed
  • 1 tbsp (15 mL) butter or vegetable oil
  • 1 small red onion, chopped
  • Water
  • 1 tbsp (15 mL) dehydrated beef broth
  • 1/3 cup (80 mL) tomato paste
  • 2 tsp (10 mL) dry mustard
  • 8-10 mushrooms, sliced
  • 1/2 tsp (2 mL) dried oregano
  • 1 tsp (5 mL) dried parsley
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 tbsp (30 mL) plain yogurt

Preparation

  1. In a large saucepan, cook onion in butter or oil. Brown cubed beef. Cover beef with water. Cook, uncovered, at medium heat, 60 to 90 minutes.
  2. Stir in all other ingredients, except yogurt. Simmer for about 30 minutes. Stir in yogurt.
  3. Serve on a bed or rice.
