ingredients
- 1-1/2 cups (375 mL) all purpose flour
- 1/2 cup (125 mL) packed light brown sugar
- 1/2 cup (125 mL) cold butter or margarine
- 1 package (350g) (625 mL) CHIPITS Semi Sweet Baking Chips, divided
- 1 can (300 mL) sweetened condensed milk (not evaporated milk)
- 1 egg, slightly beaten
- 1 tablespoon (15 mL) vanilla extract
- 1 cup (250 mL) chopped nuts
Preparation
- Heat oven to 350°F (180°C).
- Stir together flour and brown sugar in medium bowl; cut in cold butter until crumbly. Stir in 1/2 cup CHIPITS semi-sweet chips; press mixture on bottom of ungreased 13x9x2-inch baking pan. Bake 15 minutes.
- Meanwhile, combine sweetened condensed milk, egg and vanilla in large bowl. Stir in remaining chips and nuts. Spread evenly over baked crust. Bake 25 minutes or until golden brown.
- Cool completely in pan on wire rack. Cut into bars.
