Ingredients
- 1 cup (250 mL) butter, softened
- 1 cup (250 mL) packed brown sugar
- 1/2 cup (125 mL) granulated sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp (5 mL) vanilla
- 2 1/3 cups (575 mL) all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp (5 mL) baking soda
- 1/2 tsp (2 mL) salt
- 1 package (250g) CHIPITS Premium Dark Chocolate Chips
- 1-1/4 cups (300 mL) coarsely chopped pecans
Directions
- Cream butter, brown sugar, granulated sugar, eggs and vanilla in large bowl on medium speed of electric mixer until light and creamy.
- Combine flour, baking soda and salt. Add to creamed mixture, beating on low speed until blended. Stir in chocolate chips and pecans.
- Drop dough by tablespoonfuls (15 mL) onto greased cookie sheets. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 10 to 12 minutes, or until set and lightly browned. Cool for 5 minutes on sheets, then transfer to rack and cool completely.

Yield: about 4 ½ dozen cookies
Tips: Use your favourite nuts. Walnuts, almonds and hazelnuts work well.
