Chocolate Fondue

ingredient

  • 2 clementines, peeled and broken into segments
  • 1 banana, sliced
  • 1 cup (250 mL) seedless red grapes
  • 1 pear, cut into chunks
  • 12 oz. (350 g) dark chocolate, chopped up*
  • 1 cup (250 mL) whipping cream*
  • 1 tsp. (5 mL) almond essence.

Preparation

  1. On a platter, arrange fruit artistically. Cover and set aside.
  2. In a small saucepan, heat cream until tiny bubbles begin to form. Remove from heat and add chopped chocolate. Stir until chocolate is completely melted. Stir in almond essence.
  3. Pour chocolate into a fondue pot. Set the pot on its stand over the burner and set out the fruit.

Cook commentary

Suggestion: Replace almond essence with almond or orange liqueur (like Amaretto or Grand Marnier) or strong coffee to vary the flavour.
